Using up leftovers. Heavily Embellished Beads

The scraps of background left over from projects has been
rolled up, wound with a strong thread and randomly stitched with beads. These are from an inch long up to about 2.5" long.
I havn't a suitable project to use them on yet, But you know me,
I dont need a project idea just to create. I have them sitting in the bowl on my work table and they are just pretty to look at.

Colour, Colour, Colour

Another block with the embroidery from the 80's.
I must have spent hours doing those embroideries. lol.
Some ribbon roses, an up-cycled crocheted pansy,
lacey motif and including some stitches done in silk ribbon.
Bouncing shiny against matt, pattern against plain.
Dull beads with shiny beads.
By bouncing embellishments it helps with the way the light is reflected off the block. Creates more visual interest.
Oh so much better in real life. Or I just need more photography practice..lol.

I Love the Hunt. Op-shopping

A jolly good mixed bunch this time.
Heavy bottom pot for dying in.
More jewellery :)
2 sets of kids games.
2 kids jigsaws for collage.
oil crayons and pens.
An old pattern. Fancy metal frame.
And a bum-bag to wear for my foraging trips. Will get a back pack eventually, but this will do in the mean time.Enough room to carry my phone, plastic ziplocks, a pocket knife.Actually I think i just need to add a larger back pocket so I can carry A4 size paper  or a sketch book.and
crayons or charcoal for doing rubbings.
Personally I prefer to carry my goodies on the hip. Any weight on my shoulders now-a-days causes great discomfort.
Dont ya just love getting older. ;)

Crazy Quilt. Jewel tones

Lace, Motifs, ribbon embroidery,
Embroidery stitches on every seam not already covered with lace.
I tend to mix up the textures on all layers. The stitches are done in 6 strand DMC, and Perle DMC. and fine wool, and crochet threads are used too. Sparkly knitting cotton is a favourite.
In fact anything that will stitch and is relatively strong.
And then I get to add yummy beads. :)

Crumb Piecing update.

The first one is all done.
I feather-stitched each seam and then beaded each.
Added buttons to each crumb
And an upcycled brooch for the centre.
Its a great way to use up some of the odd fancy buttons.
I also offset the fancy against the plain. It seems to make the
fancy ones "zing" more.Pity the camera didn't pick that up.
Eventually this block will end up as a cushion.Possibly, Maybe...
